Carrying my Kahr P9 is a bit more comfortable IWB than the J frame but the grip can print through a thin cover garment if you're a thin guy. I also wear the J frame IWB but despite its size, the shape of the cylinder makes it less comfortable IWB than my Kahr P9 and If I'm going to carry IWB, I'd just as soon have a few more rounds and a quicker reload with a few more rounds. I'm a small guy who needs light and thin and I wear a lot of tucked dress clothes without a cover garment so the J frame and Keltec pull pocket duty. 380 is a good thin lightweight IWB gun but they can have issues too and are just a bit large/heavy for pocket carry.Īfter spending a lot of time and money, I ended up with the Kahr P9, S&W Airweight 642, and a Keltec P3AT. I've never changed a spring (but should :redface and it's never had a single failure of any kind, has a DAO trigger pull thats as smooth as butter and is one of my most accurate handguns.Ī Walther PPK in.

by the way, I have a Kahr P9 with 1000's of rounds. If it's picky at first, or broken, work with the mfg to get it worked out and then prove it and you'll have an outstanding piece.

BEST LIGHTWRIGHT CCW BELT FULL SIZE
To get all that you want in a gun you might need to get something that's pushing the envelope, therefore you have to accept that there might be more instances of a Kahr PM9 having problems out of the box as compared to a full size 1911, sig, glock, or HK but on the other hand how many guns are out there that are that light and especially that THIN. You'll hear/read a lot on the internet but I think they're better than some of the press they're receiving. If you want one for both, then I think the Kahr PM9 is the best choice out there. So I suggest you get something thin and light for IWB and then address true pocket carry as a secondary.

I carry one a lot but in dress cloths it feels like a lightweight brick. Based on your criteria for weight, etc, even J frames can feel blocky or chunky in the pocket. If you rule out the Keltec and R9, then the only other real options for pocket are the NAA. I'll suggest that you not try to get a Pocket piece and expect it to satisfy everything else. You came to the right place for advice :biggrin2:
